Small worries. Tataru is good at them. She gives me all kinds of small worries that she has made. If it will rain when she hangs out her clothes. If the people in her books will kiss. Whether rose pink or pastel pink is the best pink. Good, little worries. If you have the materials for worries like that, I would be happy to have them.
[ He considers that, because he isn't really concerned about the books on the whole. Just that they're barricading the door. ]
I mean to say that you are hurt, and that I would like to make it easier to be hurt. I do not know what would make it easier. [ A pause. ] But yes. I am worried that you cannot use your door. And it must be difficult to use the window with less legs than you are used to.
Are you implying I don’t give you near enough things to worry about concerning all matters related to myself?
[ Big or small, really. Be mindful of that grin, Marcel. It’s one that is close to a cat knocking an item off of a shelf just because.
Before he can get too playful, the genuine concern shift his smile. It’s not the amount of books that Marcel takes issue with. Merely their location. When it is spoken like that? It makes him want to reevaluate. ]
[ MARCEL. No, you can't just say things like that? Because G'raha had been preparing an answer for all of that, something clever and witty. Then everything is just derailed because the Viera has to say something that reads like it is from one of those horrible but oh so good romance novels. The ones that he keeps tucked away and hidden because no scholar in their right mind would ever admit to owning one, much less how many G'raha actually has. And right now he has to convince himself that Marcel doesn't really know what he's implying. The sincerity is very much real, he knows...
Yet his tail and ears are probably giving him away by their movements. He's terribly embarrassed and fumbling. Struggling to find words that aren't half-formed syllables that abruptly end. ]
I-I want to read them all. [ That's not quite what Marcel had asked. Let him try - ]
[ The good news is that he doesn't know what he's implying. The bad news is that if he did know it he'd be implying it more.
He tilts his head, looking across the sea of books and frowning. ]
You would still need to bend, to get the ones at the bottom of the piles. [ But he walks over to the door, piling a collapsed book stack up before lifting the concerningly high pile effortlessly and bringing it over to a place where there is probably a bed, based on the layout of the other rooms. Somewhere. Under the books. ]
Sit down. I will bring books, and you can sort them.
[ He’s probably die if Marcel did it more. A heatstroke perhaps. Other than that, he’s be convincing himself that he’s being teased. Wouldn’t see it for what it actually would be. ]
You… You are being rather stubborn about this. Stretching to reach the very top would also put a strain on the injury.
[ How could this Viera just heft things like it’s nothing? G’raha watches, one part in awe and the other in envy.
Then he’s sitting at his desk - the chair is very clean! ]
If the piles are smaller. They would be at a good height. Or we could put the ones you want to read soonest on the desk.
[ Well, it's good that he has somewhere to sit that is not 'on the books'. Marcel puts the pile down, then tries to estimate where a good reaching height would be for G'raha, holding his hand at what would be about chest-level if the miqo'te were standing. ]
About as high as this. To make it easy to take books from the top.
[ Thank you, Marcel, for the reminder that he is a very small thing. It doesn't bother him, on most days. Right now it doesn't since he's apparently only going to be watching. Not allowed to get up and participate that way. But watch. ]
Smaller piles, yes. The desk would be an option, but that which I need for my current project happens to already be there. Perhaps to the side of the desk?
[ NO PROBLEM, he will be sure to keep reminding him. For now, he splits the first pile of books into two smaller piles, to make sure he'll be able to reach the books at the top while sitting on the floor, and sits down. ]
This one. [ And he takes a book, handing it up to G'raha. ] For reading soon? Or for reading later?
[ All right. So Marcel is well and truly committed to this. G'raha shouldn't find himself surprised. Yet every time the other things to spend time doing things like this? Well it warms him on the inside. Then he feels terribly guilty for that, like he's wasting the precious hero's time by being something akin to selfish.
So G'raha will sit there, a little muted. Because there are so many better things that Marcel could be doing. ]
Ah. The one on the left is for sooner. The other later.
[ He nods, starting two new stacks with each of the books, then takes the next two. On and on, until the books he brought over are all sorted. Then he stands, stretches, and gathers another pile to sort through.
And there are so many other things he could be doing. And some of them probably would be a better use of his time, measured by pure efficiency. But this is what he wants to be doing. He makes more estimated measurements, setting up piles that are about chest-height on G'raha, with the books for later on the bottom and the ones for sooner in the parts of the pile that he can reach without bending.
It's nice. Even if G'raha himself might have better things to do than sit and be asked what order he wants to read books in, it's nice. It's probably the only way he's ever going to be able to talk to G'raha about something that clearly matters so dearly to him, because he's never going to be capable of reading the bulk of these books.
The door's been clear for a while, but he's still contentedly bringing piles of books over. ]
[ Time does pass, yes. Before long the door is clear and G'raha's books are better stacked and, actually, more organized. At least organized in the sense that ones he wants to read are separated. Though there is a point where G'raha starts to have Marcel actually organize them better. By subject, more specifically.
While it doesn't seem right, to have Marcel work like this, G'raha does remember that the other likes having tasks. Just likes to spend time in the same room as his companions and listen. So that's what G'raha does, all while rattling and prattling. Rambling on and on about each book long after they complete the initial task. ]

[ Sorry G'raha he just says things like that sometimes and now you have to deal with it. ]
We should find the ones you want to read soonest and put them at the top of the piles. So you do not have to reach down until your leg recovers.
[ Not judging the book piles, just concerned that they are not OPTIMAL book piles. ]

P-perhaps smaller piles? Not by the d-door?
[ Yeah it's not quite working. ]
