As for the other matter at hand - there are stages? Why was I not told this? I should have been taking notes so I know what is appropriate and what isn't.

I appreciate you asking, really. In truth, I hadn't anticipated on receiving anything from anyone. The act of gift giving is a common enough tradition this time of year, but I was unaware if this was also shared between stars and realities.

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised too. There were holidays and parties during the winter months back home too so I guess it's just a universal thing to do something nice for the people you care about when it's cold as hell outside.

Sharlayan can be chilly all year round, as I have mentioned. A nation of scholars does not often lead to more heart-felt traditions such as these. No, I would say Starlight was popularized by adventurers and the adventurer's guilds that had started to appear nearly everywhere.
