Background: G'raha Tia | FFXIV Timeline
Personality:
The G'raha Tia that we see currently is a blend of both the G'raha Tia that had locked himself into the Crystal Tower and the Crystal Exarch from Shadowbringers. The Crystal Exarch had the Warrior of Light transport his soul through a piece of auracite. Thus the G'raha sleeping inside the Tower inherited his memories and experiences, making it uncertain where one ends and the other begins. He even has moments where sometimes he takes on the persona or attributes of the Cyrstal Exarch and then others of the youthful G'raha Tia.
G'raha is something of a romantic - a true romantic in the sense that fiction and reality can sometimes bleed together. He is a man that loves adventure, partially due to the fact that he has read so much. He loves the idea of exploring the unknown, being the hero of some kind of tale. This has been something that he had wanted as a boy and it had continued into his adult life. G'raha hadn't really wanted to stay in one place and wanted to be like the individuals that he had read about in his books. This still holds true, even to this day. G'raha still jumps at the chance to join the Warrior of Light on an adventure. He even makes them promise to take him on one when the events of Endwalker have concluded. This is, perhaps, the heart of who G'raha is: someone who is fascinated by something new and exciting.
There's more to him than that, of course. It can be said that no one is harder on G'raha than G'raha is. He always believes that when failure occurs, that he is at fault. He hadn't been strong enough. Hadn't been fast enough. Therefore he, personally, needs to be more. That's what had motivated him, as the Crystal Exarch, to learn more skills other than the bow. Part of it is because he has a lot of guilt; being the sole survivor and feeling as though people sacrificed to keep him safe due to his Allagan Eye has a lot to do with it. G'raha feels like he needs to live up to the expectations of others, the people that have placed their hopes and dreams upon his shoulders. Failure means that he has failed them, has let them down and he can't do that. G'raha absolutely has to make their sacrifices mean something. He has to be worthy of it all.
Of course this has given him something of a martyr complex. G'raha is working on this, but due to events leading up to his self imprisonment in the Crystal Tower and the events of the 8th Calamity, G'raha believes himself to be expendable. He is ready to sacrifice himself for others and for the greater good at a moment's notice. It is also the reason that he has worked hard so that he can be of use no matter what the situation is. For him, it is difficult to accept that he doesn't need to do any of those things - that who he is and all that he is happens to be enough. It's a work in progress.
The reality is that G'raha is just as brilliant as the rest of the Scions and other Archons. Not only is he a knowledgeable historian - especially in all things related to Allag - but he has quite the pool of knowledge in regards to aetherial studies. He is a scholar by nature and rather clever at that. G'raha has the ability to analyze situations and research to come up with solutions. As the Crystal Exarch, he also possessed an ability to command and lead. Thus he has a very rational mind and can approach situations by removing his own emotions from the decision making process.
G'raha is witty and at some points can come across as arrogant or contrary. Even bratty at times. There are moments where he looks at others with a certain amount of hero worship. While he greatly admires the Warrior of Light, part of that comes from the memories that dwell within the Crystal Exarch. To him, some of the Scions and the people that are encountered are no more than legends from stories that had been passed down during the 8th Calamity. Seeing them in person sparks something of awe within G'raha and he reverts back to the young Miqo'te that's simply just excitable.
All in all, G'raha Tia is both an old man with too much experience and heartache and a young man who still yearns for adventure and challenges. Yet he is a good, loyal, and steadfast companion who will put himself on the line for another.
Abilities:
Allagan Eye: G’raha’s red eyes are also known as the “Royal Eye.” This essentially makes it so that Allagan technology recognizes G’raha as a member of the royal family, giving him some control over the Crystal Tower and other tech.
Vanish: A spell that does exactly that, causes G’raha to disappear.
Break: Deals unaspected damage and places ‘heavy’ status on target
Black Mage skills: Fire, Ice, Thunder... This is a class that deals heavy damage through the use of "black" magicks.
Paladin skills: G'raha actually uses aether to weave a blade and a shield. This class is all about getting the attention of enemies and mitigation of damage. Includes one healing spell which is "Clemency."
White Mage skills: Curative and restorative spells. Includes Non-aspected damage dealing spells like Glare ( and his special AOE "Afflatus Exarch" ).
** Please note that the links will redirect to the official pages for that class. G'raha is an "All Rounder" status and has access to the three classes listed above. Rather than type out all of those abilities, I provided the links.
